Or as aJamaa puts it, "this can't be it". Something's missing, or somebody is not telling us something. Probably just another phenomenon related to getting old[er].
I was asking myself this same question about a year and a half ago (I'm not that old though). It's a good sign because it indicates ambition. When you accomplish one thing, it helps to have new challenges. I just got back into school after some time away and it's leading me closer to my goals.
In my case it's probably more out of disillusionment than ambition. Or perhaps the boredom that was setting in after like 3 weeks on leave. Your drive is admirable.
