Join. Their world?
After 1, 2, 4 interviews, I got offered a job.
Since I resigned, I've had to deal with one persistent question. "Why are you leaving". I've never really had a good answer. It surely isn't because of want of a better working environment. A couple of guys have told me that working conditions at Celtel are horrible. Desire for better pay? Surely not. They have offered me less than I currently earn.
As it is, I've already quit my job and have signed up for this proposition. I'm expecting to hear from the other place I've been interviewing by the end of the week. Things may yet change. My inbox can't refresh fast enough.

Holllaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!
Congratulations man!
Congrats!!
I suppose I can now buy everyone a round of drinks, seeing as I will have at least one more salary I can use up.
Which post? Anyway, Blogger has been acting up. For me at least.
You seem to be talking about a post, which she's talking about a comment. Only members can create posts.
Well in.
As I had previously indicated at the very least it will be interesting to work somewhere new with different people and Telecoms are typically interesting. Does this mean I will now have to call you on a Celtel line? Hook yourself up with one of those Customer care/service chiks.
They are never easy, that much I can assure you.
One, they work weird hours.
Two, they are monitored like school children and three ....
The managers prowl there in packs and you can unwittingly cross swords with some senior dude.
But you never know.
Tell them that while you relish an opportunity for working for one of Kenya most promising companies, you cannot afford to take a pay cut. Go ahead and tell them. You have nothing to lose.
As a matter of fact, I'll be doing this today morning. 1030. [I set a reminder yesterday!] I wasn't sure what I'd say, but those are the exact words I'll use.
Done. The recruiter didn't say anything. I guess they'll go with the next guy in line.
They didn't go with the next guy. They just gave me a call back. Their final offer is to match what I currently earn. I'd earlier decided not to take anything less than 70K, but as it is, I've not got the hang of saying "No" as yet. And definitely not to a lovely woman. [Why are most people in HR women?]
So. I'll definitely join them 1st of March. Depending on how the Safcom interview this Thursday goes, I may last but one month. To make this possible further switch though, if Safcom think I can be of use to them, the increment would have to be substantial.
I hate mind games.
so hows the experince there so far...I am also meant to join soon...for a DW devloper role....ebu give us vybe sambs!
I left Celtel about 2 months ago. Another offer came along.
I don't want to bias you one way or another so just go in with an open mind.
What's a DW developer?
DataWarehouse developer
